If you have more than one account in Gmail, you can open two gmail accounts in one browser at the same time. You need Mozilla Firefox and another extension called the IE Tab Add-On.If this extension had been added into your Firefox browser, you can open up one Gmail account in the regular Firefox tab and another Gmail account by right click and selecting on the Open in IE Tab.
Now, you can open more than one Gmail accounts at the same time. Why need to frequently logout and login again when you can have both Gmail accounts presented to you all at once. You can download IE Tab Add-On in here.

Why not create a separate profile for the second gmail account? Using -no-remote option, you can open multiple Firefox sessions (of different profiles) simultaneously.
You will have to use them in separate windows, though, not as separate tabs in the same window. But I believe this is preferable to IE tab, for me.
